Pressing is the oldest technique used to extract the liquid phase from a material composed of solid and liquid phases and can also be described as pressure filtration. This technique is based on the extraction of oil from the raw material under pressure. From a production perspective, the oilseed raw material is removed from the oilseed and then pressed without exposure to high temperatures. A simple filtration process then completes, making the oils ready for sale. Cold-pressed oils stand out in terms of nutritional value because they are not subjected to high heat treatment (40–50°C), they do not use solvents during extraction, and they contain higher levels of natural antioxidants, such as phosphatides, cerebrosides, carotenoids, and phytosterols, which are partially removed from the oil during the refining stages of conventional oil production.

Cold Pressed Sesame Oil Benefits
What are the benefits of sesame oil?
Sesame oil, a popular cooking oil used in Chinese, Japanese, and Middle Eastern cuisines, is made from raw or roasted sesame seeds. Often used in cooking to season meats, vegetables, and sauces, sesame oil is also known to offer some important health benefits, including providing heart-healthy fats, fighting inflammation, and protecting the skin from the sun. In addition, sesame oil contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are polyunsaturated fats. Both are essential fatty acids that help prevent various diseases, such as heart disease and cancer. These fatty acids help improve immune function. Due to these reasons, sesame oil has a wide range of uses, and some of its benefits can be listed as follows:
• May Support Heart Health: Sesame oil has a balanced composition of omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids. Some studies show that these fats found in sesame oil may reduce the risk of heart disease. There is also research showing that sesame oil may help lower LDL cholesterol, or bad cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.
• May Reduce Inflammation: Sesame oil is used in traditional medicine for many different reasons, including reducing inflammation that causes joint and tooth pain, as well as healing scrapes and cuts, and preventing menstrual cramps. Some studies on sesame oil indicate that it may reduce inflammation.
• May Lower Blood Sugar: Sesame oil may support blood sugar regulation, which is especially important for diabetics. And sesame oil may even play a role in long-term blood sugar regulation. One study in people with type 2 diabetes showed that sesame oil significantly reduced fasting blood sugar and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c).
• May Help Treat Arthritis: Osteoarthritis is a common condition that affects approximately 15% of the population and causes joint pain. Limited studies suggest that sesame oil may help improve arthritis symptoms.
• May Lower Stress Levels: Tyrosine, a type of amino acid found in sesame oil, increases the release of serotonin, which can help combat factors that lead to stress and depression. Therefore, it can be said that sesame oil may support the treatment of stress and depression.
• May Protect from the Harmful Effects of the Sun: Some studies show that the antioxidants in sesame oil may protect the skin against UV damage. While some other oils offer 20% protection against UV rays, sesame oil offers 30%.
In addition to all this, sesame oil can also be said to help improve sleep quality, relieve pain when applied topically, and improve hair health. It can be massaged into the scalp and applied to nails. For massage oil, it's recommended to mix 1 tablespoon of sesame oil with 1 teaspoon of bitter apple oil.
